Snapchat: My Social Network of Choice
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Vine, Snapchat. You name a social network, I’m on it. I’ve been intrigued by social networking from the time I was introduced. And as social media has evolved, I’ve learned to value and use each of the platforms depending on the means of communication and who I’ve communicated with through it. I began brainstorming blog topics relating to social for a class and thought… Hm, what is my absolute favorite social network?
While I am quite the Instagram and Twitter junkie, there’s no argument on this one. Hands down, Snapchat is my social network of choice right now.
If you aren’t familiar with Snapchat, it’s time to get with it. The major twist with Snapchat is that it requires on-the-spot thinking because you can’t import content from outside the platform. Snapchat is entirely visual and allows you to use text, emojis, and possibly the most entertaining edits on the market. You simply snap a photo, throw a few words or edits on, and send to some friends or you can add it to your “story” which allows others to view the snap for 24 hours. Because of this plot twist, everyone snaps their sudden random thoughts throughout the day and it gets pretty amusing to see people totally act themselves. Once you send that snap, it’s out of your control and the receiver will view it until it disappears. Well done Snapchat, well done. I’m hooked on this social media frenzy.
My next blog post will help the late snap bloomers get started. Stay tuned!
